Our Sister Discusses Why Latina Students’ Path to Higher Education Is More Complex Than Ever

We couldn’t be any prouder of sister Joannie Diaz for being featured in an article for Cosmopolitan Magazine. We are very excited to see this feature in Cosmo Feb 17 issue! – Divided Dreams really hits home with cultural bridges many first generation students, like Joannie, had to cross when navigating their dreams and their families. Having these kinds of stories on such a large platform makes Joannie really happy. Diversity of thought and education across cultures is needed.

She joined OPBSI at our Xi Chapter in Spring 2009. Joannie confounded the website BeMoxie to help young women of color find career success.
