Ms. Elisa Benitez, member of our Collective at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, works as a community organizer in Durham, NC with Alerta Migratoria NC. She sat down and spoke to Indy Week about the recent U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) raids in the area and its effect on the community.

Ms. Benitez is an advocate for immigrant rights and believes in “Education Not Deportation.”
