Serving and Educating
As a sisterhood with a founding principle of community service, we cherish the opportunity to give back to our diverse community. We recognize that as time progresses, there is a growing need to reach out and be more involved in its cultural, political and social empowerment.
Omega Phi Beta is committed to our Community locally and nationally. By organizing and participating in events, we acknowledge our focus to serve and educate while remembering our roots as women from all walks of life. We will continue to be active within our Community so that we may reach a united and elevated future.
Week of Illumination
The Week of Illumination is OPBSI’s signature programming held at every collegiate Chapter and Collective across the nation every year. This week-long series of events is dedicated to shedding light on issues affecting women worldwide and promoting the goals of our organization.
While our Chapters and Collectives host various activities continuously throughout the year, often collaborating with other organizations and members of their communities, the Week of Illumination is an annual, nation-wide initiative with the specific intent of exploring critical issues affecting historically marginalized communities – particularly women and communities of color.
If you are interested in attending programs during a Week of Illumination at your local College or University – please contact the Chapter or Collective recognized at that institution for a schedule of events.
Omega Phi Beta Foundation
Omega Phi Beta Foundation, also known as OPB Foundation or OPBF, is a 501c3 charitable national and philanthropic organization committed to providing leadership, academic and community development opportunities, through educational and grant-making initiatives, that support individuals and organizations dedicated to advancing women’s rights.
In January 2013 the OPBSI Board of Trustees took the leadership of creating and incorporating OPB Foundation to serve as a separate corporation of OPBSI and operate exclusively for charitable and educational purposes within the scope of Section 501 (c)(3) of the U.S. Internal Revenue Code. Since its inception, OPB Foundation has met its fundraising goals and partnered with OPBSI in key signature programs such as the Ray of Hope Walk and the Reach for the Gold Book Scholarship.
