Rita Phetmixay: Not So Ivory Tower Blog
Rita Phetmixay, one of the founding sister of the Beta Lambda Chapter at UNC Chapel Hill, has been featured in a blog focused on women of color.
Rita is an outspoken advocate for the advancement of the Lao American community. Her work focuses on bringing awareness to the complexities and struggles that Asian American communities face in order to build solidarity and ease interethnic tensions. Rita was also one of the founding sisters of the Beta Lambda Chapter of Omega Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. on UNC’s campus. She recently graduated with a dual masters degree in Asian American Studies and Social Welfare.
