New Executive Director Announced for Omega Phi Beta Foundation

The Board of Trustees of Omega Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated (OPBSI) is excited to announce that we have appointed a new Executive Director to Omega Phi Beta Foundation, Inc. (OPBF), Ms. Margie Cruz-Hassan M.Ed., the Senior Assistant Director of Program’s at UCLA Riordan Programs.

​Margie Cruz-Hassan, a chartering member of OPBSI at the Beta Eta Chapter at the University of South Florida (USF), was initiated in the spring of 2010. Ms. Cruz-Hassan graduated from USF with a B.S. in English Education and an emphasis in Secondary Education. She received her M.Ed. in Post-Secondary Administration and Student Affairs at the University of Southern California. Prior to becoming Executive Director of OPBF, Ms. Cruz-Hassan served on the OPBSI National Council of Officers as the Regional Director for the Southeast Region. Ms. Cruz-Hassan has a wide range of work experience in teaching, programming, management and operations. Currently, she serves as the Senior Assistant Director of Programs at the UCLA Anderson School of Management in the Riordan Programs, a non-profit organization focused on increasing access and diversity at top-tier universities and companies across the United States.

OPBSI’s Board of Trustees created and incorporated the not for profit organization to serve as a separate corporation of OPBSI and operate exclusively for charitable and educational purposes within the scope of Section 501 (c)(3) of the U.S. Internal Revenue Code. Since its inception, OPBF has been able to meet its fundraising goal for the first two years and is now looking to aggressively work on launching national endeavors for 2016 that will serve in providing educational funding nationwide. Our goal is to build a well-rounded team that will help us succeed as an organization. This initiative is being spearheaded by Jessica Marie Saul, Chair of the OPBSI Board of Trustees. “We are excited to create a team that will be a reflection of success, experience and understanding of what our community needs” stated, Mrs. Saul. “Spearheaded by Ms. Cruz, we expect that the organization will continue to prosper.”
